This course is aimed at providing the learners an overview Organizational Theory, Organizational change process and to manage the change by administering various change management techniques. Organizational theory consists of approaches to organizational analysis. Organizations are defined as social units of people that are structured and managed to meet a need or to pursue collective goals. Organizational Development (OD) is a conscious, planned process of developing an organization’s capabilities so that it can attain and sustain a peak level of performance as measured by efficiency, effectiveness, and wellbeing. Through the process of OD, it is attempted to bring about successful change efforts in individual employees, groups and teams, inter-groups, and organizations. To achieve a competitive advantage in a global marketplace, contemporary organizations are in a continuous state of change. So in this course emphasis is also given on the methods, models, and processes specifically related to diagnosing and planning for organizational change.
