Course Description
Merukhand&GamakChatushra is regular course for Ma Bansuri, through which students will be well versed with the Tishra Jati Merukhand Alankars & Gamak. In this course students will be taught Merukhand Alankar of Tishra Jati & Gamak in Raag Kafi.
Course Introduction
Alankar practice is the basis for mastering the instrument. Though the practice of alankar starts from initial level, it’s complexity level goes on increasing as student goes in higher semesters. Likewise, for the First Semester of M.A Merukhand Riyaaz& Thaat Oriented Gamak Riyaaz is kept in course.
Course Objective
The course is designed with the following objectives:
➢ To get done riyaaz of Merukhands in ChatushraJati&Gamak in BhairaviThaat.
➢ To master Gamak playing techniques.
➢ To develop listening test ability.
➢ To enhance finger moving technique
➢ To develop Dhun playing ability.
Course Outcome
After Completion of this course students will be able to
➢ Understand the advanced Merukhand Alankar
➢ Learn the Gamak & adoption of the same in performance
➢ Understand & playing of Raag with Dhaivat position of flute, which most important to play commercial recording and light music accompaniment.

Prerequisites and other constraints
➢ All previously
taught Alankars, playing techniques are practiced and grasped well.
Pedagogy
➢ Getting done riyaaz of making and playing taans by own improvisations.
➢ Conducting Lec-dem on making notations by listening music, writing it.
