व्याकरणशास्त्रस्य प्रतिपाद्येषु अंशेषु शब्दसिद्धिप्रक्रिया प्रधानभूता वर्तते । एकस्य शब्दस्य सिद्ध्यै अष्टाध्याय्याः विभिन्नैभ्यः प्रदेशेभ्यः सूत्राणि आदाय तेषु तेषु प्रसङ्गेषु कार्याणि करणीयानि भवन्ति । सैषा दुर्गमा विविधशब्दसिद्धिप्रक्रिया वैयाकरणप्रवरेण भट्तोजिदीक्षितेन सिद्धान्तकौमुद्याख्ये ग्रन्थे सुगमतया बोधिता । अपि च बहुषु प्रदेशेषु सूत्रवार्तिकभाष्याणां मतेषु भेदे दृश्यमाने यथोचितं सर्वमतानुकूलः अन्यतममतानुकूलो वा पन्थाः अनुसरणीयो भवति यः अल्पमतिभिः ग्रहीतुं न शक्यते । भट्तोजिदीक्षितेन तादृशानि स्थलानि न्यक्षेण परिशील्य सिद्धान्तभूतः अर्थः स्वग्रन्थेऽस्मिन् प्रकाशितः । तस्मात् वैयाकरणप्रक्रियया साधुशब्दस्वरूपस्य निर्णये अयं ग्रन्थः नितरामुपकारकः वरीवर्ति ।

अत्र तद्धितप्रकरणं द्विरुक्तप्रकरणं चेति प्रकरणद्वयम् अध्याप्यते । तत्र उपकारकाणां व्याख्याभागानामपि यथोचितं बोधनं भविष्यति ।

Independent Study Course

This is a readings course which is ideal for any student looking to pursue research in Indian Knowledge Systems. Here, the student can choose a particular topic and study the literature related to that topic under a suitable faculty. The students themselves are expected to come up with the topic and initial list of literature to be studied. There will be minimal teaching in this course but the student can take the guidance of the faculty they have chosen or who has been assigned to them.
