Applied Research &Statistical Methods

          To introduce the nature of research and statistical methods and techniques. This course will provide brief overview of research and familiarize use of statistical methods in psychological research and the techniques of descriptive statistics for quantitative research. The aim of the course is to help students to understand basics in research and statistical methods used in research. The course will prepare students to take up advanced courses in applied psychology.

Self, Personality and Identity are overlapping terms used in psychology and many of the social sciences. What do they mean? In this exciting enquiry , we will first try to understand these concepts. 

Second, we will discuss and understand in depth the various theorizations around these concepts from Western Psychology and Indian thought. 

Finally, we will learn the applications of these psychological concepts in work places and counselling contexts. 

All the students will be rigorously assessed through assignments.
